MILFORD — The Milford Museum is hosting a program titled, “Everybody’s Second Choice: The Story of how Abraham Lincoln Became President,” on Sept. 9 as part of its American History Series.

The presentation, which will begin at 1 p.m. in the Milford Public Library, will center on President Lincoln’s election to office in November 1860 and will be led by local historian Lew Miller.

Mr. Miller worked in public education for 47 years, teaching United States and world history before serving as a district administrator. He finished his career as Caesar Rodney School District’s director of instruction. Mr. Miller has spoken at both state and national education conferences.

The monthly programs, sponsored by the Milford Museum, focus on topics related to local, state and national history. The programs are offered through a grant provided by the Delaware Heritage Commission.
