Dealing with the grief of a loss can be extremely difficult, and organizations in Central Ohio are hoping to help deal with that difficult time by offering a Resiliency Tailgate and Resource Fair.

It was the first time the Central Ohio Grief Care Coalition held the event at Wolfe Park in East Columbus.

"Nobody likes to talk about grief, so it's very important for people to be aware of the different types of resources that are out there," Julie Olds with Schoedinger Funeral Home said.

More than nine organizations are a part of the Care Coalition and their goal with the event was to ensure families that they're not alone during those tough times.

"Families needed more support and we found that they were reaching out, but still nobody likes to talk about it. It's easy to call someone on the phone, but it's not so easy to come and talk in front of a group," Olds said.

Olds said there are a variety of different types of grief and their Coalition hopes to help those in need.

"Grief is a very normal reaction after there's been any kind of loss and people should not be afraid to talk about it or seek the help that they need," Olds said.
