PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Hendricks County, with funding from the FHWA and administrative oversight from the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT), intends to proceed with the Ronald Reagan Parkway Extension project. Phase 1A of this project will extend the parkway on new alignment from CR 600 N to CR 750 N. Phase 1B is not yet funded but would extend the parkway on new alignment from CR 750 N to CR 1000 N. Both phases will consist of the construction of four 12-foot wide travel lanes, a 16-foot wide raised median which would transition to a turn lane as warranted, 10-foot wide paved shoulders, and curb and gutter. A 10-foot wide multi-use path will be located on the east side of the parkway within both phases. Drainage will be conveyed via open roadside ditches to detention ponds. Additionally, a bridge will be constructed over the CSX railroad within Phase 1A. The CSX railroad crossing is located approximately 0.2 mile south of the intersection of CR 700 N and will be constructed as a grade-separated crossing. Modifications to intersecting roadways will occur and be covered in the meeting. The purpose of this project is to improve regional and local mobility by providing better local access to Hendricks and Boone County residents through an alternative route, linkage of existing roadways, improving local access, and promoting future economic growth.

A public information meeting regarding the Ronald Reagan Parkway will be held at 6:00 pm on Wednesday, May 10th, 2023 at the Brownsburg Town Council Chambers, located at 61 North Green Street, Brownsburg, Indiana 46112. Please enter through the Council Room doors at the south end of the building. The format of the meeting will be a formal short presentation to begin at 6:00 PM with an informal open house session starting immediately following the presentation. The open house session will provide the public an opportunity to view project exhibits and displays, as well as interact with the project team. The purpose of the public information meeting is to offer all interested persons an opportunity to comment on current design plans to extend the Ronald Reagan Parkway in Brownsburg, Hendricks County, Indiana. We encourage you to submit comments and questions regarding the project by June 9th, 2023. Comments can be submitted via the comment box below or by using the printable "Comment Form" linked below.

Hendricks County held a Public Information Meeting on Wednesday, May 10, 2023, regarding the proposed construction of Phase 1A and Phase 1B of the Ronald Reagan Parkway (DES 1602280). The public information meeting provided notification to the public of the planned construction of Phase 1A, which will construct the Ronald Reagan Parkway from CR 600 E to CR 750 E beginning in May 2023. The meeting also provided details regarding the final design of Phase 1B, which would construct the Ronald Reagan Parkway from CR 750 N to CR 1000 N.
