Well here we are in the month of March already. Time is flying by. The Seattle Boat Show and Puyallup sportsman show booths had great attendance with a lot of people stopping by or PSA booths to say hi or see what we are about. It was great to meet new people and their families and talk fishing and what we are doing as a fishing organization. Thanks to all that came by and joined our chapters.
North of Falcon is getting started where we will find out the amount of fish available and split them up between tribes, commercials, and recreational. When we have a lot of fish to split, the fishing seasons usually are better. We have been at the forefront of making more fish. We joined with the tribes to continue to do so. We have a long ways to go to get back to more open seasons.
Last year we had incredible returns. I believe we will have this again this year but really need this El Nino to break up and go away. Think of how fat these salmon were this past year. These are descendants of the blog survivors. Remember how scrawny these fish were? 2-4 pounds. Now the ocean conditions rebounded and so did the fish with them. Its amazing the resiliency of these fish if conditions are right.
Please make sure you get your kids and grandkids out on the water this year so they can understand how much fishing and our beautiful outdoors are to our area. When they experience what we have, it will give them the desire to keep and protect what we have for their children. We live in one of the best places in the world. Join your local PSA chapter and help with some of our net pen projects.
