Homelessness Prevention Programs

Homelessness Prevention services are available to Lane County residents who meet state and local requirements, including housing status and income. Tenants must be unstably housed or at imminent risk of homelessness to qualify. Income guidelines will vary. Providers will assess each household to determine if they are eligible for services. Services can include; rent and utility assistance, rent and utility arrears, landlord engagement and case management. Some providers have specific service regions or populations, which are noted below.

Additional Information

In order to process applications and provide assistance quickly, it is helpful to collect the following items prior to contacting the provider and/or the first meeting.


Income:  
  • Documentation of all sources of income for the last 30 days. This can include employment paystubs, verification of cash payments for employment, SSI, TANF, or other benefit letters, alimony payments, etc.
Housing Status: 
  • Notices, letters, or other documentation that shows arrears, late payments, or additional proof of risk of homelessness.
State ID/Driver's License: 
  • Active ID to verify identification and residency
