Together we can end recidivism

Reducing recidivism is who we are at our core.

We strive to reduce recidivism and forever change the lives of formerly incarcerated individuals, their families and communities. With your help and the help of our grantees, we can break the cycle of recidivism.

What is recidivism?

Recidivism is when a person who has previously committed a crime reoffends and commits another crime. According to the Council on Criminal Justice, more than 70% of people released from prison will commit another crime and be rearrested within five years. Recidivism is the cycle of violence that ruins families, strains communities and makes it difficult for individuals to return to society after incarceration.
