The SFPS Board of Education consists of five volunteer members who serve four-year terms and are elected in odd-numbered years by voters in five election districts

Carmen Gonzales has been a long time educator working in leadership roles in both K-12 and higher education. She retired as the VP for Student Success at both Santa Fe Community College and New Mexico State University, where she is VP Emerita. She is a native of Santa Fe, New Mexico, however, she left for 34 years and happily returned ten years ago. She enjoys contributing her knowledge where needed and feels that education is important in order to have a strong democracy. She is also the President of the Santa Fe Community College’s Foundation Board of Directors. And has served as Mayor Webber’s Education Advisor. Carmen’s parents taught her the importance of giving back and helping others.

Sarah Boses was born and raised in Santa Fe, educated in the Santa Fe Public Schools and is a proud graduate of Santa Fe High School. She attended New Mexico State University and obtained her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Sarah moved to Florida after graduating from college, where she found her passion working as an oncology nurse. She also found a passion for advocacy and healthcare policy and has been to Capitol Hill on several occasions to speak with lawmakers. In 2016, Sarah returned to Santa Fe with her husband to raise their children in her beautiful and diverse hometown. She is married to Simon Boses, a ceramic sculptor and educator. They have four kids - Quinn and McMillan, who attend El Dorado Community School, Parker, who will start Kindergarten there in 2020, and Cecilia, who recently graduated from Columbia University and lives in New York City. In her spare time, Sarah likes to garden and cook/bake.  She sews all her own clothing.

Kate Noble was born in Santa Fe and got a wonderful education in the Santa Fe Public Schools. She graduated from Santa Fe High School and attended Columbia University in New York City, graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Film Studies. Kate spent ten years at the BBC’s Business News Desk as a producer, reporter and anchor. She then returned to Santa Fe and began working for the City of Santa Fe in economic and community development, where she focused on growing local businesses and local talent. Kate is married to Bryce Tappan, a scientist with Los Alamos National Labs. They have a son named Zachary, who attends Gonzales Community School.

Roman “Tiger” Abeyta was born in Santa Fe, raised on the southside of Santa Fe and graduated from Capital High School. His father, Chris Abeyta, and his mother, Jennie Salazar, are from Canyon Road and their families have been in Santa Fe since it was a Spanish Colony in 1610.  Tiger served over 20 years in our City and County governments. Today he is the Chief Professional Officer of the Boys and Girls Clubs of Santa Fe/ Del Norte that serves Children and families in Santa Fe, Rio Arriba, and San Miguel County. He is a former member of the City Council, he coaches both girl's and boy’s youth basketball, and he and his wife Geraldine have five sons, a grandson and a granddaughter.

Sascha Anderson was born and raised in Oklahoma, attended public schools throughout her education, and is an enrolled citizen of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Before joining the Board of Education, Sascha volunteered with SFPS as PTA President, School Advisory Committee Chair, Chair of the Policy Subcommittee of the Superintendent's Equity and Diversity Council, and member of the district's Equity and Inclusion Committee. Sascha's professional career has centered on training, development, and communications for public, private, and non-profit organizations, serving as the Director of Education for a specialty food organization before launching her own consulting practice. Sascha has worked as an advocate and volunteer in the community for the issues of equitable public education and family engagement, immigrant justice, and perinatal mental health, and as a volunteer for Girls, Inc. and Girl Scouts. Together with her husband, Michael, Sascha has three children who attend Nava Elementary.
