Hōru Sushi, lauded chef Chin Liang’s first restaurant to call his own, opens next month inside Plano’s 55,000-square-foot food hall.

Legacy Hall (7800 Windrose Avenue) is packed with 20 vendors slinging cuisines from around the world, including breweries, bars, and an outdoor entertainment venue across three levels.

Liang, who’s netted over 20 years of experience behind sushi counters, most recently helmed the knife station at KÄI in Legacy West.

To encourage freshness, Hōru’s straightforward sashimi menu is built with just three types of fish available daily. Underwater specials, depending on seasonal availability, will be sourced from the famed Tsukiji Market in Tokyo, Japan. To warm up diners’ palates, there’s miso soup, spicy edamame, shishito peppers, and hamachi and yucca chips.

Core offerings call for an ahi tuna tower (spicy tuna, crab, avocado, sushi rice, tobiko, shredded nori, wonton chips, and wasabi aioli) and Legacy Hall (tempura bacon, crab, avocado, tuna, salmon, yellowtail, masago, topped with sliced lemon and scallions).
