Plano police trying to identify child injured by passing vehicle

Police said the child is a Hispanic boy between the ages of 10 and 14 and was last seen running near an apartment complex.

Plano police are asking for the public’s help to identify a child who was injured when he was hit by a car Monday night.

The accident happened about 7:15 p.m. near West Park Boulevard and Coit Road, police said.

The boy, who believed to be between 10 and 14 years old and Hispanic, is in the hospital undergoing treatment, police said.

The child was wearing a tan and brown camouflage-patterned T-shirt, dark blue or black long pants or jeans, and dark blue shoes with a light blue Nike swoosh.

Police think he lives in the area. Before the crash, he was seen running from the direction of 1705 Coit Road near The Fairways Apartments.

The driver had the right of way before the crash and stopped to assist police, a spokesman for the Plano Police Department said.
