Plano business campus lands huge tech firm tenant

A new Plano business campus has landed another major tenant.

Tech firm Ribbon Communications Inc. has leased 107,000 square feet of office space in the Legacy Central project on U.S. Highway 75 and Legacy Drive.

The Massachusetts-based global software company is consolidating several offices from locations including Richardson and Plano into the new building.

"In addition to the modern Class-A office space, Ribbon is building out a state-of-the-art R&D lab and customer support center through which multiple products and solutions are developed and supported.

Los Angeles-based Regent Properties bought the 84-acre property in 2016 and is spending more than $300 million to redo the old tech campus that was built starting in the 1980s.

"We will be almost 65 percent leased with Ribbon and other leases currently in negotiation," Regent CEO Eric Fleiss said in an email.

Baron Aldrine, Steve Rigby and Layne Mayfield of CBRE negotiated the new lease with Nathan Durham and Duane Henley of Transwestern.
