Hope’s Door New Beginning Center (HDNBC), a comprehensive intimate partner and family violence agency serving North Texas, has named Christina Coultas, MSSW as its new Chief Executive Officer.

Christina brings almost 20 years of experience working with agencies assisting people affected by intimate partner, family and sexual violence. Most recently she served as Director of Training at the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault in Austin from 2016-2019 and before that as Senior Director of Community Collaboration at The Family Place from 2014-2016.  Other past positions include two years as Regional Training Coordinator in the Family Violence Division of the Dallas County District Attorney’s Office and two years as the Community Education & Public Relations Coordinator for New Beginning Center in Garland, one of two agencies that has since merged to form HDNBC. She is also a founding board member of the Dallas Area Rape Crisis Center.

Christina earned a Master of Science in Social Work (MSSW) at the University of Texas at Arlington and Bachelor of Social Work at the University of North Texas.

“Christina brings a broad range of experience in intimate partner and family violence and a deep commitment to help those affected by it,” said Curtis Howard, president of the board of directors of HDNBC. “That makes her an ideal choice to lead Hope’s Door New Beginning Center in the next decade. We look forward to working with her.

Christina replaces Jim Malatich, who retired in late 2019 after serving in the nonprofit arena for more than 40 years, including four years at Hope’s Door New Beginning Center.
