GLBT HOTLINE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED IN SAN FRANCISCO

The GLBT National Youth Talkline and the GLBT National Hotline, both programs of the GLBT National Help Center, will be conducting a new volunteer training class on Sunday October 25th, from 10 am to 4 pm. We are located in downtown San Francisco near the Powell Muni/BART station.
The two hotlines provides vital peer-support, community connections and resource information to people with questions regarding sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Our volunteers provides one-to-one peer support that help both youth and adults with coming-out issues, safer-sex information, school bullying, family concerns, relationship problems and much more.
We are looking for GLBT volunteers ages 18 and over.

For the past 19 years, the GLBT National help Center has operated the GLBT National Hotline and more recently the GLBT National Youth Talkline. We have helped over 200,000 people come-out and feel proud of why they are, often in spite of zero family support. We provide vital peer-support, help people with coming-out issues, relationship concerns, school and work bullying, safer-sex information and a lot lot more! As a hotline volunteer you will have the ability to directly effect the lives of those in the GLBTQ community nationwide.
Because there are requirements to be completed before the training class, we encourage you to contact us as soon as you can so we can ensure we can save you a place for the class.

Times running out to sign up for the July class!
Pride is over and we just got one major victory behind us, but there’s so much more that needs to be done! There are so many who feel isolated and alone, and you can help!
The GLBT National Help Center which runs the GLBT National Hotline, the GLBT National Youth Talkline, and the GLBT National Online Chat needs volunteers in the San Francisco office to take calls from all over the country from those who need help the most.
We’re looking for LGBT volunteers who are 18 and over and in the San Francisco area who can commit to a weekly 2 or 2.5 hour shift.
Our next training class is July 12th 2015 in our downtown San Francisco office. If you’re interested in signing up, please RSVP as soon as you can, so we can make sure we can set you up on a shift!
