COVID-19 Resource Toolkit #2
Greetings friends and colleagues,
My name is Natalie E. Brown, and I am the recently arrived U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Uganda. I am delighted to be here in Uganda, but only wish I could send New Year's wishes under better circumstances.
As the New Year begins and the desire to resume normal activities increases, I wish you strength and restraint. I know that doesn't sound very festive, but we have hung on this long, and relief is coming, although not yet within reach for most of us. Strength and restraint will allow us to keep ourselves safe, protect those we love, and demonstrate the tenacity and courage we all need as COVID infections surge and new and more infectious strains of the virus have emerged.
Rather than sending a traditional New Year's greeting, I am sending tools and resources for each of you to use and share with those you love. Celebrate the beginning of 2021 by sharing hope and strength in the form of measures to keep safe and healthy, so that optimism can continue to grow throughout 2021. We can all make up for the missed hugs, celebrations, travel, and other regular activities when we are no longer at risk.
This second iteration of the U.S. Embassy COVID-19 Resource Toolkit, developed in coordination with the Ministry of Health and many other partners, contains even more downloadable and printable content. We ask you as community leaders in Uganda to take the COVID-19 communications resources in this toolkit and begin 2021 with the gift of health and safety by implementing these resources and encouraging everyone you know to do the same.
Let's work together to fight against COVID-19 and turn 2021 into a year of hope!
With gratitude,
Natalie E. Brown
