Garden Plot Application for 2021 at the Dale Street Community Garden
The Dale Street Community Garden is accepting membership applications for 2021.  The gardening season runs March 1st through November 30th each year.  (Note:  Existing members may garden through the winter if their crop extension plan is approved by the Garden Manager.)

Renewal of plot rentals for existing members runs from September 15th until October 1st.  An email confirming assigned plot and payment options will be sent by October 2nd.  All payments must be made by October 15th to reserve garden plot for the following gardening season.  

Enrollment for new applicants for the 2021 growing season commences October 16th and ends November 30th.  New members will be assigned garden plots by December 1st and receive an email providing payment options.  All payments for new rentals are due by December 15th to secure plot for 2021.  

The Annual Public Meeting for the garden takes place in February every year.

Vision:  An organic community garden space where people come together for positive social interaction, agricultural education, environmental conservation and to enhance local food security.

Management:  The Garden is managed by a board and its membership according to a set of by-laws, which are consistent with applicable policies and regulations set on the use of the land by the City of Alexandria.

Garden Plot Description & Pricing
Neighborhood Residents & Subsidized Plot Pricing
Priority for membership will be given to “neighborhood residents” living within Hume Springs and Lynhaven or a .5 mile radius of the Dale St Garden. If additional spots are available, Alexandria city residents (living outside of the previously defined area) will be considered next, then non-residents.

The Dale Street Community Garden will offer subsidized-pricing for plots to residents who meet the RCPA Low-Income Gardener Guidelines (see by-laws Appendix B).

Fees may be paid by check or credit card upon receiving approval for a garden plot.
