The Philadelphia Commission for Women works to improve the lives of Philadelphia’s women, girls, and individuals who identify as female. In addition to advising City government on matters of public policy, the commission hosts public forums on issues that impact women. Topics have included:

• Wage equity.
• Education.
• Violence against women.
• Sexual harassment.
• Entrepreneurship.
• Economic development.

Ten members of the commission are chosen by the Mayor, while the rest are selected by members of City Council.

• Annual Reports: The Philadelphia Commission for Women (PCW) annual report details the progress PCW has made in policy advocacy and strategic partnerships to address the year’s priorities.
• Women and Reentry: A snapshot of national and local data and a spotlight on efforts in Philadelphia compiled in 2017 by the Philadelphia Reentry Coalition.
• Maternal Mortality in Philadelphia: The aim of this report is to describe the current state of maternal mortality in Philadelphia and to highlight the Philadelphia MMRC’s recommendations to reduce it.
• Shared Safety Philadelphia: Shared Safety is a coordinated community response to domestic and sexual violence, human trafficking, and reproductive coercion in Philadelphia. It offers a citywide blueprint for more effective identification, intervention, and prevention of relational violence.
