Our mission

The Philadelphia Commission for Women works to improve the lives of Philadelphia’s women, girls, and individuals who identify as female. In addition to advising City government on matters of public policy, the commission hosts public forums on issues that impact women. Topics have included:

  • Wage equity.
  • Education.
  • Violence against women.
  • Sexual harassment.
  • Entrepreneurship.
  • Economic development.

Ten members of the commission are chosen by the Mayor, while the rest are selected by members of City Council.

  • Annual Reports: The Philadelphia Commission for Women (PCW) annual report details the progress PCW has made in policy advocacy and strategic partnerships to address the year’s priorities.
